Mark Dresser Beautiful track!!!! The tones of the instruments are so rich, the groove is so organic yet idiosyncratic.. like nature itself. Really great,

about

Simon Barker - drums/production
Drums recorded by Stu Hunter at The Habitat
Lately I’ve been imagining that asphalt roads could be repurposed as a kind of learning text that is touch-read by bare feet. The “text” being a form of granular terrain-writing that offers the body advice on barefoot running. These thoughts led to the creation of two tracks that occupy a similar sound world but are based on different rhythmic shapes: ”Ground Song" (also released as a single track) and this track. I’ve been running barefoot for many years now and I’m starting to wonder if the primary pleasure is not so much the running bit (which is always amazing) but instead the deeply pleasurable sensory experience of bare feet coming into contact with complex granular terrain such as asphalt.

If you're interested in the rhythmic systems behind Ground Song or Granular Road Song please get in touch.
