Wolli Creek Trail
Simon Barker - Drumset, high-low drums, percussion, bass

This recording came about whilst thinking about repurposing, recycling, and renewables as prompts for ideas in music. Also, I was running a lot on the trail along Wolli Creek when I was making these tracks and the experience of learning more about barefoot trail running deeply shaped this music.

"Girrahween Track" explores creating musical layers by recycling a single line in different ways.

"Wolli to Tempe Trail" is a repurposing of a bunch of different things I've recorded previously. When I originally documented these drums (recorded by Richard Belkner at Free Energy Device) a few years ago, I wanted to organise the high-low drums and drumset like this but I wasn't really sure how to do it. So this is a collation of percussive sounds and two versions of a drumming song that I recorded in the past and have repurposed for this track.

The cover pick is taken on the Wolli Creek trail.

Mixed and edited by Simon Barker

These materials were harnessed from various recordings from the past 13 years
